IAIM Training in Ireland – Full Course Program
Professional 4 day Instructor training’s with the International Association of Infant Massage.
‘The purpose of the International Association of Infant Massage is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community’
The IAIM training equips students to teach parents how to massage their babies with the knowledge of the latest research in infant mental health, bonding and attachment. The structure of the training blends theory, communication skills, practical teaching and practice within a group and parent baby setting. As a Trainer with the IAIM Kirsty works to a code of practice which ensures skills are kept up to date and in line with best practice from around the world. See www.iaim.net for details.
After the four days there is an open book exam which includes theory and practical elements in which students have four months to complete in line with the IAIM guidelines. On successful completion of the training students are eligible to join the IAIM in respective countries and may use the title CIMI (Certified Infant Massage Instructor).
Kirsty has been a CIMI since 2000 and a Trainer since 2005 playing an active role in establishing www.babymassageireland.com, a not for profit organisation in 2002 which supports new instructors and parents.
